As you can see, this is a very large agenda with an aggressive timeline. If you have any comments about noted items or you would like to add something else for discussion, please email the board. This will help to facilitate the discussions, and ensure we have an effective and efficient meeting. Your consideration of this request is appreciated.

We hope to see everyone at the AGM on Saturday August 28, 2021. Registration begins at 9:30 am; and the meeting will commence at 10:00 am sharp. Don't forget to bring a chair and you may wish to bring an umbrella. There is not a lot of shade at this location.

As reported in the April Newsletter, the Annual General Meeting scheduled for Saturday June 26, 2021 was postponed due to provincial restrictions regarding large gatherings.

The 2021 AGM meeting will now be held as follows:
Saturday August 28, 2021
10:00 am – 12:00 noon
Deanlea Beach Boat Launch

The rain date will be Sunday August 29, 2021 – same time, same location.
NOTE: Should there be inclement weather, the meeting location will be changed and communicated accordingly.

MEMBERSHIP FEES REMINDER
If you have not paid your 2021 fee, there are 4 ways you can do this, listed below. The cost is $50.00 and your fees are used to:

- Ensure we maintain collective ownership of our private waterfront.
- Ensure taxes, insurance and other associated fees are paid.
- Ensure financials are up to date, and reported, as required.
- Ensure Deanlea Beach property as noted in Tiny Registered Plans #793, #1481 and #M76 is maintained. This includes tree maintenance, footpaths and unpaved roads (pot holes).

* Your fee is NOT used for snow clearing on the unpaved roads. This is managed by a separate group of residents and money is collected annually to cover the costs.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - SATURDAY JUNE 26, 2021 - 10:00am - 12:00pm
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Saturday June 26, 2021 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the boat launch, located at the end of Henry’s Rd. The rain date will be Sunday June 27, 2021. Please note if there is inclement weather, the meeting will be moved to another location within Deanlea Beach (to be determined). The 2020 Financials will be presented at the DBA Annual General Meeting.

In the coming months people will be returning to their cottages. There will be more dogs, more people and of course, more children. Deanlea Beach is a place where everyone should feel safe and comfortable walking our roads, footpaths and the beach.

However, over the past few months, there have been a number of unfortunate events involving unleashed dogs that were unaccompanied and unsupervised at Deanlea Beach. One such attack resulted in very serious and expensive injuries, while all attacks have left people feeling unsafe to go for a walk and/or walk their dog. The Tiny Township Animal Control Office has been notified and continues to monitor the area. If your dog is off leash and caught, it will be impounded.
Please remember:

It is the law to control your dog at all times and to have your dog leashed and to not allow it to wander free.

If you own a dog, walk it on a leash, and do not let it out unsupervised.

Dogs are not permitted on the beach during peak times (July – August from noon – 4:00 pm).

If you have a run-in with an unleashed dog or see a dog wandering around unsupervised, it is very important to contact Animal Control at 705-549-2289.

Everyone should feel free to walk about without fear. Let’s work together as a community to ensure everyone is safe - please be a responsible dog owner!

At the Annual General Meeting held in September 2020, the topic of swimmer safety was raised. Specifically, there are concerns about the increasing number of motorized watercraft and their operation in the swimming areas, putting swimmers t risk.

This was further discussed by the Board. A decision to educate first, and evaluate in the Fall is the plan, before taking further action. The Board is committed to fixing the existing markers, and adding signage. Please remember Deanlea Beach is a family-friendly beach! All DBA members are asked to share this information with family, friends and renters.

Owners and/or renters of motorized watercraft are asked to:

Use ONLY the boat launch area to launch, drop off and/or pick-up passengers, and anchor motorized watercraft.

Operate motorized watercraft in the area immediately in front of the boat launch.

Motorized watercraft should NEVER be operated in swimming areas.

Important: The boat launch area is not maintained and individuals use it at their own risk/expense.

As in the past, we anticipate that everyone will co-operate to ensure Deanlea Beach is safe for everyone!
*Motorized watercraft is described as anything with a motor, e.g. boat, jet ski, etc. It does not include paddleboards, kayaks, canoes, etc.

The Township of Tiny has established a policy regarding spraying for gypsy moths and the use of the pesticide bacillus thuringiensi (Btk). The purpose of the document is to provide a policy and method to address requests from the public to allow overspray of the Btk pesticide onto municipally owned properties. This policy applies to any property owner applying Btk where any municipally owned land is within the overspray boundary. This includes parks, pump houses, trails, fire halls, offices, beaches, and access paths. Please refer to the complete policy for more information.
