Hello DBA Members:
Your DBA Board of Directors met on Sunday Jun 23rd and discussed, amongst other items, what everyone is talking about - limited beach space. Unfortunately, this is out of anyones control, other than Mother Nature, so to help and ensure that everyone enjoys the beach this summer, as DBA residents please consider the following:
1.Dunes: The Board recognizes that people will be walking, playing, and setting up for the day in the dunes. Although this is not an ideal solution, it will happen so please be respectful of the dunes and use caution around the waters edge/drop-off. Also, please do not remove the dune grasses and be aware of poison ivy.
2.Beach Camps: With limited beach space, please be sure to take up only as much room as you need when setting up. For now, gone is the day when you could spread out we need to share the limited beach space while still being respectful of others and their personal space.
3.Personal Belongings: Please remember your personal items should be removed from the beach at the end of each day. Consider asking your neighbours if you can leave your belongings at their place.
4.Garbage and Cigarette Butts: Please take your garbage and butts with you. Do NOT leave your cigarette butts in the sand, especially if you are in the dunes and near dry grasses.
5.Fireworks: Please be reminded that Tiny By-law No. 07-054 only permits the use of fireworks on Victoria Day, Canada Day and the five days immediately preceding and following these days or New Years Eve and New Years Day. Fireworks are not allowed when a Tiny Township fire ban is in effect. Please use extreme caution when setting off fireworks.
Other Business:
6.Membership Fees: Dont forget you have until July 1st to pay $50 for DBA membership; after that, the fee is $60.
7.Discount Card: Please be reminded that with your paid DBA membership, you can receive a FoTTSA discount card for 20 participating vendors in our region. Cards are available from our Treasurer, Lorrie Locke at treasurer@deanleabeach.ca.
8.Fun Day: We are looking for volunteers to run the games. This would be a great job for Recreation and Leisure or Event Management students; or high school student(s) looking for Community Service Hours. Contact Lorrie Locke at treasurer@deanleabeach.ca, if interested.
